Couple Resources

We have found that “Couple Talk” is best taught couple-to-couple. It is tailored to the needs of the couple and it is confidential and personal. Typically we teach five sessions with each session being about two hours. Communication skills, constructive conflict management, and relationship building skills are taught to pre-marital, married couples and to co-habitating couples in all stages of life.

Parent Resources

One-on-one coaching is tailored to individual situations. Discipline tools and encouragement techniques are shared with the parents. The sessions will explore the stages of a child’s growth, and discover how needs change over time. Parenting skills for elementary age children, for parents of teens, single parents and blended families are all available.

Relational Healing

Relational Healing coaching encourages individuals as they explore and choose forgiveness of past hurts. Rather than treating symptoms, the resource material from Bethesda Family Foundation strives to get to the “root causes” of the demonstrated behavior. By making healthy choices, both family and workplace relationships are strengthened. This program is typically one-on-one or with a very small group of men or small group of women. It is usually about eight 1-½ hour sessions over a two to three month period. This is not a substitute for professional counseling. TouchPointe volunteers will often make referrals to licensed counselors or therapists.

KnoxWorks: Connecting Neighbors

KnoxWorks is the employment component of TouchPointe. We work closely with other Knox County agencies to provide needed resources to assist our Neighbors, both men and women, to attain employment. The program is offered to Neighbors who may be facing situational or generational poverty, returning from jail or prison, or coming from an addiction recovery program and may have a “less than perfect” work record. The important requirement for participation in the program is to be “willing and capable” of attaining a level of self-sufficiency through employment.
